Anyone know the difference between brown Aluminum oxide and white, besides the obvious? My blaster friend who has been doing my work uses 120 grit brown, but I saw the white advertised recently and wondered if anyone was using it and if there was some benefit to using it over the brown.

It's cheaper and softer so doesn't last as long Lisa.

I don't know what the effect will be when it's used with Tony's special satin finish TM but I too would be interested to know.

Currently loaded with white AlOx it's getting too fine so wondering whether to reload with brown.

Like Paul said, the white is softer and won't last long. I use the brown and it lasts a long time. I don't do a lot of heavy deep blasting, just removing irid and pattern blasting for surface effects. My current batch is 2 years old and just getting to the point of needing replaced. Check around for local suppliers and you may get a better price. My last box was about $40. Look in the phone book under "industrial supplies".
