I am wondering what others have used for a firing schedule when bullseye powders are involved. I 'painted' on sheet glass with the powders and want to fire them into the surface but no lose my detail completely, any suggestions? Thanks a bunch.

Hi Lissa,

You can go to full fuse (~1525F) without losing the detail in the powder. The base glass should be 1/4" thick or the entire sheet will contract somewhat.

Probably the retention of detail depends more on the powder used than the firing schedule. Opal powders will have better colour saturatation than the transparent powders.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Bob

Indeed it does help, thanks! And I am glad to hear it, too, because I went ahead and started the kiln this morning on a schedule to reach 1490 F. Thanks again,
