Hey all, Wildfire here!
I'm going to be making my first tiles and I have a few beginner questions. First, do I have to use dams? and fiberboard? What is the best way for me to go about this whole thing? Thanks for any help like I said this is my first tile. (and my first post :D )

hi wildfire. look at the screen up above, right next to where it says WARM GLASS WEEKEND. see TUTORIAL? click on that, and then go look at the beginning projects, coaster and/or tile project. that will give you all the info you need to do your first tiles. that whole tutorial is great, and you can also buy the book, Contemporary Warm Glass, which is in the box on the far right. it's a great help for getting the basic stuff in your head. good luck with your tiles. kitty.

thanks

If your tiles are only going to be 2 layers of glass, you shouldn't need dams. Glass wants to be 1/4" thick so will hold its shape. If you're making tiles that are 3 or more layers thick you should probably use dams if final size is important.
