I have a Skutt 1018 side firing ceramic kiln that I am using for glass. My Skutt book says to always leave the top peep hole unplugged. I read in one of the posts to plug all holes to avoid drafts, so my question is can I plug all the holes and not hurt my kiln? Does the leaving one unplugged only apply when firing clay?

If a none thermal shock problem fire I keep all bungs out till about 700 / 750 C

Then put em in

I can't imagine that it would hurt the kiln to plug the holes. Do what is best for your glass. If you are firing enamel or glue or plaster, along woth your glass, leaving a hole for gasses to escape is good.
