Fish and Shell Molds

I recently purchased two molds for slumping, on in the shape of a fish and the other in the shape of a sea sheel. The fish mold has a lot of detail with the scales, fins and the eyes. I fused my design together with two layers of glass, then slumped the designs in the molds. When I took the glass out, none of the detail shows up in the glass. Should I only use one layer of glass with molds that have a lot of detail? If you saw the finished sea shell you would not know what is was unless I told you. Any suggestions appreciated.

You might try firing it hotter and/or longer, so the glass is soft enough to sink into the detail. One layer is actually more difficult, because there is less weight to it.
