I have been quite succesfully using my paragon PMC kiln (about 8X8X8) with fiberboard shelves for small fusing for a year or so. NO failures. So I get a larger glass paragon glass kiln (13X9) with ceramic shelves. it's the same controller. using the same program or going up even slower, my glass is breaking into numerous pieces. for instance a 1X2" piece might be in 6-8 pieces. Anyone have any suggestions?

There may be a temperature differential due to proximity to the coils. What is your soak temp? What kind of glass?

My guess is that it's the shelves. Ceramic shelves hold the heat more than fiber, and you can usually fire faster on fiber shelves than on ceramic.

How fast are you increasing the temperature?
