Overglaze Question

I'm looking for opinions! I use Super Spray to coat the top of wafers. It seems to work well and I need to order more. I am planning to reorder from Fusion. The question is this: what's the best to order.... Clear Coat (the description read THE BEST) or Super Spray? They cost the same and the only noticable difference is 2% lead.

Thanks for input, Ross

Hi Ross,

I prefer Super Spray rather than Clear Coat. The Clear Coat sometimes does not evenly cover smooth surfaces (I use a brush for application which may be the problem).

I would suspect that either would work fine on powder wafers... should absorb into the surface well. I only use overglaze if I am taking the wafers to full fuse.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Bob

I haven't found any difference based on one test. (Well, maybe the Super Spray had slightly better coverage) I'm running some more tests today and will report tomorrow.

But, if the Super Spray works for you and you're not using it on food bearing surfaces (it may still be ok for food bearing surfaces), why mess with it?
