2 questions: epoxy, and uv with activator

two questions:

are all epoxies equal for holding glass and findings ... if not, what do you use ...

also,
am currently using a uv mastic with chemical activator for glass and e-ring findings ... am finding that some are not holding ... i put chemical activator on glass and wait til dry and then put uv mastic on finding and place on glass ... many will 'pop off' with pressure ... do you use this process and if so what makes it work for you ... company said to put light coating of activator on and be sure it was dry ...
