Tack, tack & tack again.

Post by Haydo »

I really admire the people who are able to make kilnforming or for that matter any artform work in both bussiness and pleasure. I've had to re-think on many occasions how the hell I could tap into this success.
Listened to some wise words at the conference held in Perth earlier this year and met Emma Camden at the post conference casting workshop who said "love what you do, do it well by not doing too much"

O.K that's great. I asked how!!! often enough for things to start happening. My new casual job at the regional gallery started to make sense when I found myself working with wives of two award winning builders and one building material supplier. I'm connecting with established and emerging artists from the region. One has just won a printmaking prize the others are as talented. I'm not Einstien, but I must have faked it I hope for this next tack.

In four weeks, in partnership with my wife we are starting up a cafe/gallery. Cafe Mana will hopefully allow me to collect my own work for display and sell once I get a true bussiness nut. For now it's just a matter of putting it all together and keeping it together. I hope to report only good things from the experiences ahead. - Haydo
