fiber board

I want to use fiberboard for a drop ring mold. Do I need to treat it with a hardener?

I've never used the hardner when I've used fiberboard. I've started using a different type now called kyfler (excuse the spelling). It sands into shapes easier.

Hi, Is "kyfler" the newer stuff that is safer than fiberboard? Where do you get it? Can you check the spelling? We have never used hardner for our fiberboard molds. Although I would highly recommend you do. They are super fragile. We just never learned how to correctly apply the hardner. We only tried once. Thanks for the info. sheryl

Yes, that is it. I can't find the correct spelling either - I just remember someone calling it that. I used it for the first time a few weeks ago. It was wonderful - I was able to make my designs with the end of one of my glass rods (blunt end). Very easy to work with - and expensive.

http://www.glasscrafters.biz has it - they called it ceramic fiberboard (same thing).
thanks

Is Ceramic Fiber Board the same as the Kaiser-Lee Board?
