Forgot to sacrafice to the gods of Devit

Post by Kim Bellis »

Banging head on wall here - I've never had devit before until I started doing this last commission. I am pretty sure, after searching the archives and reading them until I am blurry eyed, that I know how to prevent it in the future when I use this different type of glass (spectrum for stained glass).

Problem is I am confused as to whether these pieces can be salvaged or do I need to start over? It seems after reading a thread back in May that I can sand the pieces using 600 or higher grit pad then refire. Question is I do not know what temp to fire too (1/8" 8" diameter). Also I am assuming this will give me back my glossy finish. Do I assume to much?

Appreciate the help!
Kim
