After sanblasting a design on "96" black irid, do I need to fire polish before I clear cap? or can I clear cap (about 14" dia.) over the blasted design and get good result?

You can just go ahead and clear cap. That is, assuming you had a light hand with the blasting. Any depth at all, besides just removing the irid, and you can easily trap bubbles. Brock

Thanks Brock. I've done this before but my memory is bad and my notes are lacking. I plan on capping (with chads) at 1480F.

Just curious, what does "clear cap" mean? (ignorant of sandblasting)

Clear cap means to cap with clear, or to cover the piece with clear glass and fuse it together.
