model of kiln.. description

Post by Janette »

I have been given an old kiln. There is no door and I have contacted the company

.American Art Clay co. with the description
for a repair or parts list.
No model number is visible..
"I have a AMACO Kiln .........Type1, Serial number 1245, k.w.6, PH 1, volts 110,
AC/DC, 2000 deg. 5.5 AMP" ..........THIS IS ALL THATS LOCATED ON THE KILN

can you help me ...There are no sign or a hinge or latch ever having been there. There is a ledge at the bottom of the bricks as tho it rested or balanced there.

Amaco makes kilns for ceramics. Their website has some of their kilns as well as a way to contact their customer service dept with questions.

Thanks for the input...I have contacted them and they want the model number .I cannot find a number I have described it in every way. Was ask today if I could send a picture, I thought of all the people having kilns that just maybe someone would recognize it by the description... Just need a door of some kind....

From the specifications you give for the kiln, it sounds like an AMACO enameling kiln. Maybe something like the attached link?
