im wondering is there is a 90 coe glass available that has a thin coating on it, NOT DICHROIC, that will act like gold leaf when the glass expands, making the coating seperate, and pull into different directions, leaving gaps like a dried up stream bed

thanks

an iridized coating will do that sometimes depending on how much it stretches when it slumps... in fact, it doesn't have to stretch to split and crackle like that, sometimes it just needs to be raised to fusing temps.

Bullseye has a beautiful gold irid that really stands out against the black glass (it's also available on clear)... this might be what you want. Almost any surface coating, whether it's irid, dichroic or mica will appear thin and almost transparent against clear glass.

Wasser also has a gold on black that's a thin coating. I did a small test piece for jewelry and it did crack some. But then I didn't want it to of course.
