Clearance between mold and kiln wall

I want to do a slump into a ceramic mold. There is only 1/8" clearance between the corners of the mold and the walls of the kiln. The elements are only on the top, not the sides. Am I asking for trouble if I try this?

I chickened out and am using the big kiln. Rosanna, your warning about the temp was right on. The piece has 2 layers of small squares mixed between larger solid pieces and that has a tendency to crack on the slump. Plus it is a brand new mold and I'd hate to lose it on the first firing. Thanks for taking the time to explain.

Slumping is better than flat. After the glass falls, it will be further from the walls, and may even out OK.
