tile saw issue

I have a DeWalt D24000 which has a 10" blade but the problem I am having I had with a saw I had at the beginning of my glass career. I'd just like to know what is going on.
I am cutting and it is just fine but then it seems to pull the glass quickly through the cut and not cut all the way through the piece when it does that, as if the blade has lifted up. It also sparks a bit although the water is flowing well. It is scary when it happens because it pulls the cutting cart under the blade quickly. I've adjusted the depth of the blade and when this happened with the other saw, I bought a new blade with no improvement.
Any ideas?

Sparks are a bad sign. They mean that the glass isn't getting enough water. Either the water isn't sufficient or you're sawing through the glass too fast.

The water can be flowing well but not hitting the blade and getting to where it's cutting the glass, so check for that. More important, the blade should not be pulling the glass through that quickly. What kind of blade are you using?

Using Husqvarna SuperLock Glass Plus diamond blade.
The saw goes along fine, cut is great then all of a sudden it seems to jump and blade seems to skid across top and spark.

Is the blade actually moving up? Could the housing be loose?

Also, check the blade--I've had wacky skips happen with a damaged blade.

dress the blade.
adjust the water so the kerf is flooded.
slow down.
check the table travel for true-ness.
change the blade.
cut on a pad of newspaper (will absorb some of the vibration).

My new saw, the brutus, has water to both sides of the blade. I think it is a great design. You can always add a second little pump and tube for extra water. If your saw is outside.....i would pull a hose over and position it ( a second set of hands would be good for this test) so that there is a small stream onto the blade. If the glass cuts smooth.....no sparks etc then I think the problem is too little water. Just me thinking over a glass of wine here!

Hi Laurie, and everyone,
Hope all is well with you and everyone else here. Such good advice from great artists who share so much. I am so sad that my favorite very durable Saw is now not being made anymore . It was by QEP and was a beautiuful machine. (well still is and I am coveting it now. Such a true blue.) Not sure why they discontinued. I am going to Red Deer College in July and they have a Huscavarna that I have not used yet but am bringing my own 10 inch blades. I have not used a large stablizer before and cut up to 3 1/2 inch colour bars, but I use many different blades for different reasons. ( all 10 inch blades) My saw is my favorite tool I own besides my Phill Teefy kilns. (30 years old) (oh dear, dating myself again.)Water on both sides is so important.
It almost sounds as if your saw is lifting half way through. AND not enough water and for sure slow down. How long and thick are your pieces you are cutting. I also would love to see a pic of the Brutus you are using Laurie. AND other pics from other artists tooo sawing there bars. Also try creating some wood right angles and a place to hold the blocks to hold the glass when sawing if it is not a flat pad you are cutting on.

Les.....this is it. I love it. I think it is very much like yours but a bit lighter weight. Perfect what what I slice up. I am slices down to 1/4" with a somewhat generic glass blade and they are smooth and clean. Happy glass maker here!!
