Element placement and firing results

I just purchased a Caldera to have a travel kiln. Realizing it probably takes a few experimental runs, will there be much difference in firing from a Fusion 16 with a top/lid element, vs the side elements in this small kiln? I plan to fuse 6x6 tiles.

Thank you for your business. If you fire with full rates, you will notice that the Caldera fires much faster than the Fusion-16.
