Thanks all. I always appreciate the compliments from fellow artists. I don't know how the rest of you feel, but the rank of artistic endorphins is:

1 When you first hold the piece up to the light
2 When your artist peeps compliment a photograph of the piece
3 When the patron or customer likes it

Getting paid for it is somewhere down a few more numbers

Is the frame strictly painted or is it also wood-burned?

Thanks Todd. The frame is carved and painted with oil paints. It was cut from a basswood glued-up shelf/cutting board that you buy shrink-wrapped at Lowes. The glass went easy. The carving and the dark blue inlay was more challenging. The inlay dado was routed out with a cool little Veritas hand router. If you do something that's new to you and a pain in the butt, you at least have to get a new tool out of the deal.
