How to make good seams

This was my first attempt at making seams with different colored glass. I think I did pretty well for a first try, but when I hold the piece up to the light I can see a little light through the seams. I fused the three colors on top of a clear base. I think my cuts were good. Any suggestions or good techniques to share?

Put the clear on top. The weight of the clear will help push the glass together and make the seams less likely.
