firing bronze or copper clay

I'm interested in playing with some of the metal clays (bronze and copper), so I've downloaded lots of info. The object is placed in a covered, enclosed stainless still firing pan. Within the pan, the piece is completely surrounded by activated carbon.
According to the info, it can be fired in a glass kiln.
If anyone here has experience with this, I will be most appreciative. I don't want to try this in my glass kiln if I'm going to cause contamination.
Thanks,
Colleen
