hello all,

I would like to paint vitreous enamels onto double walled borosilicate glass.

Borosilicate glass has a high slumping temperature. That way I can use lead free or low lead enamels (I hope!)

Do you think the double walled glass might explode in the kiln? That is, the air trapped between the 2 layers of glass heats and expands causing an explosion?

I had a purely decorative piece once that required colors I could only achieve through Pebeo vitreous enamels (the 150 and 160 versions). I applied them, then only heated in the kiln until they cured at about 350°. They're designed to cure in a home oven so I don't see why they wouldn't work on those glasses.
