Hi All,

looking to find a large kiln for a workshop that I will teach. Anything 40" + in length would be great. Recommendations anyone?
Thank you.

I am looking for information about manufacturers of large kilns. I am leaning away from the fiber kilns, since I want more control over annealing stages, and they cool down too fast.
Do any of you use large kilns that you can recommend?

Are you looking to buy a large kiln? If so, how large?

Are you looking to buy?
I know of one (much larger than 26"x42") in Hillsboro Oregon, if you're interested.

Hi Bonnie,
If you don't find what you want ready-made do you have access to the resources to build one? This thread contains pictures of a lid rebuild to replace the elements for a top-fired kiln, the rest is just a fibre-lined brick box held together with angle-iron rods and bolts.

It was built for me by an electrician friend from a sketch I made of a top-fired brick kiln at Pilchuck (last century). It's still my favourite kiln.

I am buying it on behalf of someone else who, turns out, only wants a new kiln from a reputable manufacturer. he has no interest in building one, but I appreciate the response you provided.
