rescue magnetic backing flat lap disc

The magnetic backing on my 24 inch diamond disc is coming off. Any advice to re attach? Separately, I got a new disc with no backing at all, just steel. Any way to put a magnetic sheet on that? Did I learn my lesson to read the description more carefully? I'm thinking of attempting contact adhesive and a roll of magnetic sign material as I can't return it.

That's exactly what you do- contact cement for the separation and new mag for the other.
