I would like to know what would obsidian glass be compatible too?

In addition to that would some tell me what is obsidian glass?

Thank you all in advance for any info, suggestions & comments.

obsidian glass is a volcanic glass. i doubt that it is compatible to anything other than it's own lump. it melts at 22 gabillion deg. rosanna

Obsidian glass is volcanic glass. It's probably not compatible with anything.

I have tried melting it, heated it to 2300F and nothing happened. Didn't even get soft. I've been told by some of the glassblowers than you can melt it, but it takes a lot of heat. The melting point depends on the color of the obsidian, the darker the glass the higher the temperature.

Obsidian glass is essentially silica with Magnesium and Iron as impurities.
This explains the high melting point.

Thanks everyone,

I know it was very dark, like black and it did not even bulge.

Thanks for all the info
