I am certain this is the proper place to post this. We are participants in one of the most ancient, and yet the most futuristic medium there is. Prepare to be awed

at what space experiments have discovered about glass.

(Also, be sure to check out the links, including Henry Halem's GlassNotes.) This is incredible! - Barbara

Paul Marioni told me that he once contacted NASA about making big glass lenses in space. Blowing glass is a snap in zero gravity.

Barbara:
Thenks for the fascinating article! Glass is an incredible material. Makes me wish I could start school all over in ceramic engineering. It would really be neat to see what effects would be produced in zero gravity pate de verre castings.
