Green Murini vase

This piece was made by Robin Mix. Can anyone tell me what does MURINI means? Her work is great and I think done as a roll up.

think of a pattern bar. a hunk of glass built up of other rods, slabs, etc. fuse into a bar. and instead of being saw cut into slices, is heated and pulled into a BIG stringer. then take slices off that.

Cross-sectional pieces of cane. An age-old Venetian technique by which bundles of cane (rod) are assembled, heated and stretched so as to create specific imagery within the resulting cane.
