murininiini and how many molds per load Q
does anyone have experience making murini in a kiln,,,,,,,,,,also, lets say we are talking about the EVENHEAT bathtub kiln, and the mold that is ready for casting is 4" wide by 8" tall, how much space between each mold would there need to be, to make sure they all turned out,,,,as always, thanks for the info,,,rodney

As a rule of thumb, what glassblowers call murini we call pattern bars cut into little slices. I guess the difference is that murini are fused in a glory hole and then stretched out into long, thin rods of glass before they are cut into small pieces. Pattern bars are fused in a kiln and cut without stretching. The second part of your question doesn't really make sense. There is a kiln and a mold of a certain size. Seems like there should be lots of space around that mold. If you're firing several molds of the same size, you don't need more than a half inch or so between them. Just enough so that air can circulate easily.
